The supported shape and patterns

A single axis-aligned rectangle, one rectangular paver size, stack bond or half-offset running bond. Length runs horizontally. The top-left paver starts at the patio edge. Alternate running-bond rows start half a horizontal pitch to the left. No rotation, centring, border, L-shape, curve, obstacle or optimization is performed.

Pitch, joints and clipping

Horizontal pitch = paver length + joint. Vertical pitch = paver width + joint. Each paver face is intersected with the patio rectangle. Intersections with positive width and height become placed pieces. A piece smaller than either stock face dimension is a cut, even if both dimensions are cut: it is counted once.

There is no extra perimeter joint or edge restraint width. A patio boundary can fall inside an inter-paver joint, leaving a partial joint strip at the edge. Match real edge detailing before ordering. Surface paver area excludes joints; patio area includes them.

Stock, saw kerf and offcuts

One placed piece consumes one new stock paver. The remainder is not reused anywhere in this plan. This is a conservative no-reuse stock schedule, not a mathematically optimized cutting order. Finished cut sizes are shown in millimetres; saw kerf and blade positioning are not modelled. Extra spares are ceil(stock × percentage / 100), added once. Tiny cuts are flagged below 25 mm, not certified feasible.

Conversions and limits

Calculations use millimetres internally. One inch is exactly 25.4 mm and one foot is exactly 304.8 mm. The planner converts existing dimensions and volume prices when units change. It does not convert currency. Piece CSV uses mm regardless of display units.

Maximum patio side: 100 m. Minimum paver side: 20 mm. Joint range: 0–50 mm. Drawings are limited to roughly 12,000 pieces to protect the browser. Readable exports are not construction drawings. Confirm actual measurements, cutting feasibility, manufacturer tolerances and packaging.

Not structural or installation advice

All depths and prices are editable examples. We make no engineering guarantee about load, frost, drainage, soil or foundation suitability. Consult local requirements and product instructions. Browser-local deterministic calculations need no model or external API.
